When Whatcom Lawns Inc. starts up a sprinkler system for the season, we do a complete check of all of the system components including the main controller. Through out the entire process we check for leaks and potential problems. Each irrigation zone is operated to ensure it is functioning properly and adjusted for optimal coverage. Programming adjustments are made to the controller if necessary or requested.

In the fall, irrigation lines need to be winterized or they could freeze and crack. A system irrigation blow out valve is generally located in the main irrigation line right after the shut off valve. After shutting off the system, our technician connects a high pressure air compressor up to the blow out valve, opens the sprinkler zones and blows out the lines. The system is then prepared for winter, and nothing more needs to be done to it until water is needed for irrigation.
